storyteller. stage shaper. community dreamer.

Leonicia builds stories like homes. Sturdy. Sacred. Full of sound.
Raised in theatre, refined in tech, rooted in Black creativity.

Her work is a bridge: between voices, between worlds, between what is and what could be.

In her own words.

I’ve spent over a decade bringing stories to life, from behind the curtain to center stage. As a stage manager, director, producer, and sometimes performer, I’ve worked in the rich creative ecosystem of Chicago theatre, where collaboration isn’t optional; it’s sacred. I’ve called cues, calmed chaos, built worlds, and made magic, all with a headset, a vision, and a clipboard that could tell stories of its own.

That love for crafting experiences eventually led me into the world of tech, where I’ve led as a trainer and experience producer. Whether I’m onboarding teams, running live events, or designing engaging learning programs, I bring the same creativity and care I honed in theatre to digital spaces because good storytelling knows no medium.

I’m also a bold writer who blends heart, history, and humor into essays, scripts, and stories that center Black voices, Black joy, and the everyday sacred.

And because storytelling doesn’t stop at the proscenium or the page, I’m also the proud founder of Culture Noir, a space built to uplift, connect, and celebrate Black creatives across disciplines. Through events, partnerships, and shared resources, I’m building the community I once needed, where brilliance is assumed and access is shared.
